Night time walker

After we put the kids to bed one night, Rich and I were super tired so we went to bed as well. Soon after we hear their bedroom door open. It was Cameron. (I can tell who it is from the sound the door makes when each of them open it) Rich and I decided to pretend we were sleeping in hopes that he would just go back into his room to sleep. He came into our room walked around a little...then walked into the living room....made some noises. opened and closed the fridge. Then I heard his bedroom door shut. We assumed he put himself back to bed. We decided we would wait a little before we check on him. Well we both ended up falling asleep. The next morning I woke up all worried that we fell asleep before we checked on him. I checked in his room, he wasn't there. Checked in the living room, and realized he wasn't there but he turned on the Christmas lights. Finally I checked in the play room. There he was tucked in a ball on the bed we put in there for my dad when he came to visit. So cute!! His feet were a little cold. But surprisingly the rest of him wasn't.

My first 1/2 marathon

Yes, that's right. I ran my FIRST half marathon early in November. My sis-in-law ran with me. (not only was this her first half, this was her FIRST RACE) This course was very challenging. Several runners said they thought it was harder then the Boston marathon. CRAZY. Some people were doing the relay for the full marathon. They said they would never run the whole thing again b/c of the difficulty of the course. I am glad I only did the half. During training I took a few weeks of b/c of a possible stress fracture and an infected big toe. OUCH. My doctor told me not to run...but I did. So my time was not that great (o.k I will be honest....my time was horrible) But I am so glad I did it, and glad that I was able to accomplish this with my sister.

Us at the beginning. Amanda forgot her race bib at home....so she quickly went home to get it, and we were lucky to find each other like a minute before the race started!!!
YAY! We did it. We are planning on running this race again next year. We can't wait to see how much we have improved over the year.

Gallons of wasted water!

The kids LOVE to help me with the dishes. I cut them off at about 45 minutes of scrubbing the dishes. But this was more then just wasted water. It was the opportunity to teach them the meaning of chores, working together, and don't worry I also talked about conserving water.

Trunk or Treat

We went to the church Trunk or treat this year. I didn't end up making their costumes this year. I procrastinated it to long, and when I went to purchase the material to make them. it was going to be about $40-50/costumes. No thanks! If it were going to save us money I most likely would had stressed myself out trying to get them made in just a couple days. So instead I picked up these for under 20 each.
Cameron is usually all smiles. This picture just cracks me up. His expression is priceless. It pretty much remains like this for all the pictures.

At least we got a smile from Aidan.

Cameron went fishing for candy. Aidan was to shy to play.

The parade of costumes!

Unfortunately the kids were sick on Halloween, and were unable to go trick or treating

check out this cute video of Cameron eating a donut with out his hands. To cute. (again, Aidan was to shy to participate)
.

Pumpkin Carving!

The kids (Aidan) were very excited to carve pumpkin's this year!

Busy getting all the guts out. Aidan didn't like touching them, so he opted for using a scoop.

Cameron decorated his with marker. *it kept him busy.

Aidan loved helping Dad carve out the face.

Aidan took this picture of their finished work. I love it! His hand was unsteady when he took it, so it was blurry. But it makes them look like scary pumpkins. This is so much better then the one I took!

Grass Drags1

Grass Drags is basically a big event that get snowmobile riders in the mood for snowmobile season. I wont bore you again by posting pictures of the races. If you haven't seen or heard of grass drags check out my post last yearhttp://thetanguayfamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/grass-drags.html. We had fun watching all the events, sampling food, walking around, and enjoying each others company.

The kids really wanted to take these "kid size" 4 wheelers home

Here cameron is making all the noises one would make...he was also doing tricks on it. He would stand on the seat and lift one leg in the air. Or put both of his feet on one side of the seat. He put on a show for everyone walking by. People would comment on how cute he was.
It was cold and windy.....

But the kids still wanted ice cream and had a lot of fun feeding it to each other.

Love these guys!

Fire station open house!

A while ago, our town had an open house at the fire station where kids (and adults) could come and learn about fire safety. They had a lot of fun activities for the kids including an obstacle course to practice what to do in a fire. Cameron loved doing it. Aidan just walked by me and watched intensely. At the end they pretended to put out the fire by aiming the water hose at a tennis ball on top of a cone. They both thought that was really fun.

We enjoyed free pizza. We also had fun riding in the front seat of a fire truck around the block. We had a great time and will be going next year as well!

Corn Maze and Hay ride!

A couple of weekend ago my mother in law asked us to go apple picking with her. I have been wanting to go all season. I wanted to find a place that also had a corn maze and hay rides. So we searched and searched on line for the closest place. We finally found one that had those two thing not to far away. When we got there, Rich says "where's all the apple trees?" My mother in law and I look at each other and say....oops. We we so busy trying to find a place that had corn mazes and hayrides, we forgot to make sure they also had apple picking. Needles to say we still had an awesome time. We ended up doing a "apple picking" at the store so we could make delicious apple pie.

They also had a little petting area.

On our Hay ride! The boys loved it, and wanted to go again.

They had a cute little maze set up just for kids. It was a lot of fun to watch them try to figure out how to get through.

Labor Day

On Labor day we went to York's wild kingdom with some friends. We had a lot of fun, and can't wait to go back next year. It's a Zoo plus they have rides and games you would find at a carnival.

Looking at Alligators

Can someone teach my husband to smile??....he did have a great time!

Aidan went on his first roller coaster and loved it. Cameron was upset when he was told he was just a little to small to ride this one.

I was lucky enough to get a picture with all the kids who went with us. Aidan is in the front row. Cameron is in the second row in the middle.

Aidan with his best friend Robbie, waiting in line for the bumper cars....I think this ride was a favorite for everyone...including mommy and daddy.

Group Hug!!!

Chugga chugga choo choo!!!

The zoo was right by the ocean. After we decided to drive to the beach, eat dinner, talk with friends (and of course the kids were able to play more) and view this fantastic light house. I hear it is one of the most photographed light houses...my picture doesn't do it justice. In my defense it was 8:00 at night. The lighting was bad, and we have a horrible camera. Anyways, we had a great day with great friends!!
Edited- If you want to see a great picture of this lighthouse, visit my friends website. What an amazing photograph!! www.domesticlifestyle.com/?p=4464

Summer Fun

We have swam at our house and at Grandma and Pappy's.

Spent time with Auntie Amanda

Taken many rides on the ATV. The kids love it!

In the spring we picked up this swing set for FREE! We love it!

They loved to pretend they worked at a fast food place. They would cook me hamburger, hot dogs, french fries, shakes, you name it, they made it. Sometimes they would "run out" of food, and I would have to pick another item.

We also picked this power wheels for Free. We just had to pick up 2 new batteries. They ride to "work" in it. They also drive around the yard to do yard work with their toys. I love to watch them play and interact together. Cameron is perfectly happy being the passenger.

Summer fun in soooo tiring!

One Saturday we were out mowing the lawn. The kids love to ride with us. We have 2 mowers. One of them will ride with me and the other with Rich. Cameron fell asleep so we laid him down on the grass. He did wake up, so it wasn't a long nap.
