Portland Maine

Good News!!!! My Dad got a job offer! The bad news.....it's in Georgia. He has to report to work by October 1st. Right now we aren't sure if my mom and brothers are going to go down with him right away or if they are going to wait until the school year is over. Where does Maine fit into all of this you ask? My dad applied for this job in Maine. (which is only about an 1 1/2 drive as apposed to 1 1/2 day drive to Georgia...which would mean they would be closer to us) ...so he applied for this job in Maine but found that this company had their eye on this other candidate for I guess a few years now, so my dad wanted to talk with them to see if they would change their minds. I guess no such luck. So they are moving to Georgia. It will be hard having them so far away. Especially since they are my only "blood' family out here. I am sure there will be many trips to visit them. But even though my Dad didn't have any luck with the company we had a great time this past Friday at the beach in Maine.

While Dad was in the interview I found this really awesome park that had this water play area I guess you could call it. The boys loved it. It must of been on some sort of timer because water would spray out from various holes in the ground at different time. We had so much fun.

My sister and brother in law are in town. They also came to Maine.

A closer view of the light house....not the prettiest one I have seen but it's the closet one to where we were. This picture was taken on a trail to the lighthouse....it would have been a great running trail. Rich and I will have to come here for a date, it was so beautiful.

Family pic by the light house...it was pretty windy, but very nice. Abe was taking the picture and Rich wasn't there...he was at work. I missed him so much and wished he could have been there. The kids just loved it.

This was on the way back from the light house. Jumping all of these rocks was so much fun and brought the kid out of me again....well if I didn't have one of the boys in my arms...I seem to be very cautious with them. So Aidan loved going with uncle Abe...the would jump over the cracks like it was nothing. It was pretty cool how they set up the rocks...it was like this all the way to the lighthouse and all the way around the lighthouse.

Mom and Dad. Dad was pretending he was going to jump. His facial expression was priceless. I definitely want to go back this season with Rich. We had so much fun and the kids really enjoyed it. Did I mention we had a good time???? hehe

Cameron's 1st Birthday!

So these pictures are all backwards...I can never seem to remember how to upload the pictures so they are all in order....I think I know how, and then they show up on my blog backwards. Anyone know how to do it? Well these are a little late getting posted but here are some pictures from Cameron's Birthday. We had so much fun, and I can't believe he is one! He wanted to grab the flame.

Crusin' Cameron!

Cameron has really taken off on walking. He hardly crawls now because he loves walking so much. This video is a little long, but so worth it, because he is so darn cute.

Aidan's swimming lesson's

These pictures are a little backwards so you can scroll to the end of the post and work you way up it you want. Aidan started swimming lessons this week. He doesn't know what to think about it. He is very shy when it comes to kids his age. But he braved it and got in the water. The first day he did fine, but the second day he was like talking to a wall. The instructors would try to talk to him, but he would just turn his head. We'll see how today goes. Anyways below are pictures of the first day!

Waiting for his turn. The instructor would take one out at a time and have them kick and move their arms. Aidan would just lay there. I am not sure what he thought. I thought he was having a good time, but when I asked if he had fun, he said no.

Fun Filled Week!

We did a lot last week, and enjoyed every minute of it!

We went to the mall to have lunch and play. He just loved those rides you put quarters in. He went on every single one of them. So spoiled!


We went to the movies....sorry bad picture...it was pitch black in the theater when we took it.



We went swimming at the town pool a couple time that week. The kids had so much fun and so did I.

You can't tell very well but Aidan is running through water that is shooting straight up in front of him. I love his face!

We went to a bbq at uncle Jim's to cook the Bacon bomb the right way. ( in the smoker) it was yummy!

And lastly we set up this cars tent Aidan got for his birthday. They loved it!

Camping Day 3!

Oh what a night!!! There was a huge thunderstorm that past through on the second night. Our tent was flooded. We had to bring Aidan into bed with us, because he was just sleeping on a foam pad. Luckily we brought him into our bed before it soaked up water. Cameron did fine he was in a pack & play which is off the floor. The thunder was so loud, it shook our tent. The lightning was so bright is was like daylight. Aidan woke up once, but when he realized he was with Rich and I he fell right back asleep. Cameron also woke up, but really didn't seem to be fazed as to what was happening. I fed him and he went back to sleep. Well we had a big mess to clean up the next morning. Everything was taken out of our tent and hung up to dry. Our clothes were really wet and so was Aidan's mattress. Luckily the rain cleared up and it turned out to be a nice sunny day!

Cameron was such a good boy eating cheerios while we started to clean up.

Rich made a bacon bomb for dinner. It didn't turn out like it is supposed to because it is supposed to be smoked...and um well we didn't have a smoker while camping.

Taking a nap with Grandma. He was probably so tired from all the cleaning he was doing. (at his own free will) He loved raking the leaves, dirt, and rocks. It was so cute. He really had a blast while camping. He keeps asking if we can go again.

I am so glad I brought this excersaucer. He had a blast in it...plus it saved my arms.

The last night there we didn't have any deflating mattresses or floods.....just a crying baby. yes for some reason Cameron was up like 4 times that night. o-well. The next morning we had a big breakfast and packed up to go home. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Camping day 2!

Our second day camping we went to the lake to go swimming and lay out in the sun. The boys really loved the water. They especially loved splashing.

haha this is why I don't have very many pictures of Aidan on our camping trip. He just doesn't seem to want his picture taken.
Warming up after swimming. The water was a little chilly. After a little while Aidan started to shiver. But he would't get out of the water. he was having to much fun.

Cameron had so much fun in the water he was pooped. He took a nice long nap curled up in a towel.

We had the best chicken ever that night. I think it is called beer caned chicken. It is the most moist chicken you will ever taste. What you do is you sit the bird on top of an opened beer can and grill it. You can kindof see the can sticking out of the bottom on the left bird. This chicken is delish.

Camping trip day one

We went Camping last week and had so much fun. It was so nice to get away together and not have to worry about work. I was a little worried about how things would go with Cameron being so young, but things went really well. Both Aidan and Cameron had a blast. Aidan loved being outside all day and playing in the dirt. There were 13 Adults and 4 kids. We had 4 good size campsites all next to each other. On one campsite we set up the croquet set, the next one was the main "hangout" with all the food, hammock, and the main fire pit we used. The horse hoeswerealso set up at that campsite. The other 2 were just used for sleeping. Rich and I had a fire at ours one night while the kids were sleeping. We were gone for 3 nights. The first night Our mattress deflated within 2 hours. so sleeping that night was very uncomfortable. Day couldn't come fast enough. the boys seemed to sleep well that night. We went out the next day to buy another air mattress.
